Dr. Brian Shannon has been one of southern Rhode Island's most active and trusted pediatric dentists for the past twenty years. After receiving an undergraduate degree from Hamilton College, Dr. Shannon attended Buffalo Dental School, graduating in 1985. While attending dental school he volunteered at Buffalo Children’s Hospital, and realized he would like to pursue a career in providing dental care for children. He completed a 2-year Pediatric Dental Residency at the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, serving as Chief Resident for the program.

Dr. Shannon loves working with children and their families to provide quality comprehensive dental care in a fun manner. He has been an active member of the South County, Rhode Island and Southeastern, Connecticut communities outreaching into the schools and day cares to provide dental presentations. He also sponsors many youth sports teams, and has been chosen to be the school dentist for the Westerly School system. He is also a trustee for the Westerly Public Library. He is a proud member of the American Dental Association, as well as a member and Past President for both the Northeast Society of Pediatric Dentists, and the South County Dental Society.

He and his wife, Jacqueline, have been married since 1985, and have 4 wonderful children, as well as dog, and a cat. He has 2 children who are Yankee fans, 1 Red Sox fan, a Dodger fan(?), and is not sure who the dog and cat root for.

Dr. Anna Capalbo grew up in Boston, Massachusetts as a bonafide Red Sox fan. She attended Harvard University for her undergraduate degree and obtained a B.A. in History and Science. She went to the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, graduating in 2007. Dr. Capalbo then completed a 2-year pediatric dental residency through Lutheran Medical Center in Providence, RI. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and the Rhode Island Dental Association. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. 

Dr. Capalbo finds working with children extremely rewarding and strives to make dental visits comfortable and enjoyable for her patients. She lives in Westerly, Rhode Island with her husband and fellow dentist, Dr. Matthew Capalbo. In her free time, she enjoys trying out new recipes, getting lost in a good book, and spending time with her family.

We are very fortunate to have 3 highly qualified and experienced dental hygienists. They have been providing dental care for the children and young adults in our pediatric dental practice for over 45 years combined! As well as their technical expertise in all facets of pediatric dental prevention, they also are quite skilled as dental educators. They have a comfort level in caring for all children that comes only with years of experience. They also continue to increase their knowledge by actively attending continuing education courses pertinent to the field of pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Shannon and Dr. Capalbo have wonderful assistants who are kind and caring and quite skilled at their positions. They help provide the best possible care for your child.
